1. Frankie Jim Bockman

We have a farm out of Stockdale – off 87S – we have many goats…Boer, Saanens, LaManchas, Nubian, and 5 donkeys, 4 dogs (2 Golden Retrievers and 2 Great Pyrenees/Anatolians livestock guard dogs), 6 cats, many guineas, English Orpington chickens and roosters, Aracuana chickens and one roosster. We have a young Boer goat doe that gets around all over the farm in a wheel cart that my husband continually remakes for her.as she grows…she had an accident when she was about 3 weeks old and broke her spine close to her tail…she cannot use her hind legs – but she’s healthy as can be and such a pretty, happy little girl! We call her Princess Jill. We realize (since we’re both ole coots) that we will one day have to put the Princess down when she’s too heavy for my husband to pick her up and put her in her wheel cart – that saddens us to think about it – so we don’t…much anyhow.
WWe named our farm Esperanza – which means HOPE in Spanish – as we have much hope for our country and love our country home – we’ve been here since 2003…we moved from New Braunfels – which was too busy and over-populated for us after living there for many quiet years…we wanted country/’small town living. We pray it stays that way here!!!
Is it hard to make your goat milk? I would never consider selling anything, just would like to make some soap for us to use. We do give eggs to friends as we get so many we can’t eat them all.
I wanted to ask you about your dehydrator – how large is it? We used to have one that had 8 drawers – as much canning/dehydrating it sounds that y’all do, I imagine your’s is pretty large. I want to find one, but want to kinda know what I am looking for…
thanks and good luck with your farm and all your animals.
God Bless You and Yours, Mrs. Frankie Jim Bockman, Esperanza Farm

    • Hi Mrs. Bockman
Your farm is not far from us. I agree with you on the small town feel.
I make hot process goat milk soaps. It’s not hard its just time consuming. I enjoying making it.
My dehydrator is a nesco. I have 8 trays. We enjoy our dehydrated food. It is very healthy.
Most of all like you we love our country life! 🙂
      Thank you and God Bless!
