This time of year the heat can rise to over 100 degrees.
When I was out in the heat training horses and giving riding lessons I had my first Heatstroke about 10 years ago. After that I had several more. The last heatstroke was a few years back, I was dizzy, sick to my stomach, a very bad nose bleed, and a horrible headache. NO FUN!!
Now when I’m out in the heat I get a headache right away…I hate it.
Now that we are using Young Living Essential Oils when the heat starts to bother me I start using Peppermint oil right away to cool me down. So I try and do what I need to do outside very early in the morning.
I wish that I was using Young Living Oils back when I was training horses. The oils would of been so helpful!
Although the oils won’t protect you from heatstroke, certain essential oils can help you feel cool on sweltering summer days.
1 drop of peppermint essential oil
5 drops of lavender essential oil
1 cup of distilled water
Store the mixture in a glass spray bottle in your fridge, and spritz it onto your arms and legs whenever you need a quick cool down.
Peppermint oil contains menthol, a compound that induces a cooling sensation by activating certain receptors in the skin.
