I love making creams and mixes with my Young Living essential oils!
Having creams mixed up (with oils I use regularly) prevents me from having to open several different bottles each time I want a specific combination of oils. Customizing is fun!
Creating different concoctions takes only a few minutes, so it’s a great way to save both time and money.
Putting the oils in a cream base makes it easier to spread them over a large area, like over my back for back pain, or my stomach for stretch marks. And, it allows me to use fewer drops of essential oils (thus, saving money).
1 cup coconut oil
10-15 drops of Young Living Frankincense essential oil
Add the coconut oil to your electric mixer.
Whip at a high speed until the oil becomes light and fluffy (about 5 minutes).
Add your oils and mix well.
Store in a glass container in a cool place.
**Notes*Great oils to use include lavender, frankincense, myrrh, and sweet orange.
Use caution if you choose a citrus oil as it could cause photosensitivity.**If your oil liquefies (coconut oil melts at temperatures above 76º) you can put in refrigerator.
After I washed my face I applied my homemade face cream that contains coconut oil and Frankincense essential oil. I love using Frankincense on my face at night because it’s great for preventing and reducing wrinkles and scarring.
Why only use glass as a storage container? Pure, therapeutic grade essential oils break down petrochemicals in plastics. That will put toxins on your skin and in your body.
You may ask if it is safe to put these essential oils on your skin if they break down toxins. The answer is yes!! Pure essential oils are designed to scrub out the junk that gathers in your cells. They help to cleanse and purify.
