Mary “Sugar” Emma Blankenship

Mary ” Sugar” Emma Belvin Blankenship went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at the age of 91 years old. Sugar was a resident of San Antonio, Texas. She was born in Mahomet, Texas at home on the Tayler Ranch on November 26, 1925. Sugar was the youngest of 5 children to Benjamin “Doc” and Mary Mills Belvin. Sug was always a country girl.
Sugar was wed to Willie Ervin Blankenship December 17, 1945 after he returned from the Navy at the San Antonio Court House.
Preceding her in death in 1979 was her husband, Willie Ervin Blankenship.
Surviving relatives include her Sons, Larry E. Blankenship and wife Patricia, Jack E. Blankenship and wife Kathy; Daughters, Mary E. Blankenship Shaw and husband Herb, and Margaret E. Blankenship Crews and husband Stace.
9 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grand Children.
Sugar was a seamstress for 30 plus years, and continued her love of sewing and crocheting after retirement.
A visitation will be held Sunday, March 12, 2017, 5pm to 8pm at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South 1700 S.E. Military Dr. San Antonio, Texas 78214. Service will be Monday March 13, 2017 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South at 3pm followed by a graveside service at Floresville City Cemetery.
